v2.8 — September 2026

New:

• Weekly and bi-weekly pay — choose Weekly or Bi-weekly as the Frequency and enter a payday you know; every paycheck lands on the Calendar, the dashboard's payday countdown, Runway and the Genie's next-payday line. An income source saved as Weekly or Bi-weekly before this update keeps its old schedule until you add a payday you know.
• Twice a month on the days you choose — pick both paydays, 1 to 31 or the last day of the month. Leave them blank for the 1st and the 15th, as before.
• Bills carry an account — pick the account a bill is paid from. It is then marked paid only by payments from that account or from transactions with no account, and the Bills list shows an Account column.
• Search and import know the account — Search and Quick Amount Search show an Account column on an all-accounts view. The import form uses the same account picker as Add Transaction, and typing "visa" when "Visa" exists uses your existing account instead of making a second one.
• Password-encrypted backups — tick "Encrypt this backup with a password" on Backup Management for a copy nobody can open without the password, for a cloud folder or a USB drive. Restore asks for the password first. A forgotten password cannot be recovered, by you or by us.
• Your phone can file a capture to an account — the Mobile Capture card on your Profile shows whether a phone is paired and sets the account the phone pre-selects. While a phone is paired, your account names (names only, no balances or numbers) are sent to our relay so the phone can list them; Forget phone removes them.
• The chat microphone takes Spanish and French dictation — the Genie chat mic has the same EN / ES / FR badge as the Notes fields.

Changed:

• Phone capture, described as it works — every capture waits on our relay until SenticMoney on your desktop pulls it in, at start-up or with Sync Mobile. Setup needs an internet connection, not your home WiFi.
• Receipts say what reads them — AI vision reads photos and PDFs; Albertsons email receipts (.eml) and Smith's text receipts (.txt) are read on your computer with no OCR or AI.
• Sorting and filtering keep your place — sort headers, filter buttons and month links on Transactions, All Transactions and Search land on the results, not the top of the page.
• Home network access is Free — the Upgrade page now lists it in the Free column.
• Numbers that mean what they say — Balance Sheet plan totals wait for an income source or a bill instead of showing $0.00; a credit-card reconcile adjustment is described as the change in what you owe; and the Genie is told when last month has no transactions, instead of being handed zeros.
• Cleaner upgrades — installing over an older version clears out the old program files first, including files earlier installers should not have included. Your data and your uploads are never touched.

Fixed:

• A PDF receipt whose items cannot be read now says so, instead of "Found 0 items".
• Safer deletes — deleting transactions in bulk takes their splits, receipt items and bill items with them. A category whose subcategory is still in use is refused with a plain message, and the bulk-delete confirmation says when archived transactions are left out.

Security:

• SenticMoney now refuses changes sent from another website. Deleting a tag is a button, and opening its address no longer deletes anything.

v2.7 — September 2026

New:

• Restore a backup from inside the app — every data backup on the Backups page now has a Restore button. Click it, read what that backup holds (the file, its date, how many transactions), confirm, then restart SenticMoney the way the next page shows you. No more finding and renaming files by hand.
• Your current data is saved before anything is replaced — a restore first saves what you have now as a pre-restore file in your backups folder. If the restore turns out to be a mistake, restore that file the same way.
• Your licence stays with you through a restore — restoring an older backup does not drop a Standard account to Free. Your App Lock password goes back to the one in use when the backup was made, and the confirmation says so before you click.
• The Backups table shows what each backup holds — transaction count and date range, in the table. A file that cannot be read says so, and why, and cannot be restored.
• Get Started checklist on the dashboard — four steps with a progress bar (income, first budget, a transaction, Financial Health) that tick off as you complete them. "Hide this" removes it for good.
• One free bank-statement import for Free accounts — CSV, Excel, OFX or QFX, once. PDF statements stay a Standard feature, and a refused PDF does not use up the free import.
• A QR code for your phone — with Home network access on, the Profile Network card and the start-up splash show a code you scan to open SenticMoney on your phone.

Fixed:

• Monthly Expenses is what you actually spent — the tile summed bills and budgets and never read a transaction. It now shows this month's real spending, transfers left out, and all four of its links land where they say.
• Current Balance shows a real direction — up or down by an amount since the end of last month, or no direction at all until you have a previous month. The always-green arrow is gone, and Budget Progress says "no spending last month" instead of "up 100%" on a first month.
• One plain sentence instead of $0.00 tiles — on an empty ledger the dashboard and ten more pages say what will appear there once you add your first income or transaction, instead of zeros, empty charts and empty tables.
• "No account" replaces "Unlabeled" everywhere the account lens shows rows without an account, including the Genie. All Transactions shows a pill naming the account you are filtered to.
• Sync Mobile reloads when captures land, and says "Already in sync" when nothing is waiting. Captures are pulled for the account you are signed in as, one sync at a time, and a capture the relay could not confirm is reported instead of silently left behind.

Changed:

• Full Application Backup is removed — that archive held application files and a sample database, never your transactions. The Backups page and its help say so once; an old one is safe to delete.
• The Backups help is rewritten for the Restore button — it now walks through the in-app restore step by step, on the same computer and on a new one, instead of the old rename-the-file instructions.

Security:

• Each install now has its own session key instead of one constant shared by every copy.
• Backup actions respond to a form post only, and download and delete accept only plain filenames inside the backups folder.

v2.6.4 — September 2026

New:

• Transfers and card payments can be left out of your totals — tick "Exclude from income and spending totals" on a category (Add or Edit Category, in the new Totals section). Its transactions stay in every list and every balance but no longer inflate income or spending, and show a gray Transfer badge. Nothing changes until you tick the box.
• Twice a Month (Fixed Days) income schedule — pay on the 1st and 15th shows both paydays on the Calendar, counts two paychecks in Runway, and projects the right monthly amount.
• Your home-network address now shows on the Profile page when Home network access is on, beneath the switch, so you no longer need the startup screen to find it.
• New users get getting-started steps in the assistant panel instead of an upgrade prompt — tap "Where do I start?" for the first four steps, each linked to its page. The panel stays open as you move between pages.

Fixed:

• Amount search works again — it returned an error page whenever it found a match (since 2.6.1).
• Financial Health's six-month trend shows real months — the chart repeated your all-time total in every month.
• Payment Day is no longer asked for on twice-a-month income; the field was required and then ignored.
• Income help and Genie guidance corrected — they described a weekly schedule the app has never had.
• The "Session Expiring Soon" warning is removed — it announced a timeout the app does not enforce. How long you stay signed in is unchanged.
• With Home network access on and no App Lock password, the Profile page, the switch-on message and Help now say that anyone on your home WiFi has full access to your data, with a link to App Lock.

Security:

• The Genie chat display is hardened against a crafted link or quote in an answer.
• Several pages that could be opened without a signed-in session — including Backups, Calendar, Financial Health and Manage Tags — now require one.
• A hidden web-demo admin panel that had shipped inside the app since the first release is removed.

v2.6.3 — August 2026

New:

• Account filter everywhere you view money — filter any transaction view to a single account, with per-account balances and an Unlabeled bucket for older imports.
• Credit-card imports: the Flip Signs control is back and smarter — SenticMoney detects your statement's direction, pre-ticks the flip for credit-card account types, and when your statement has a debit/credit column, that column decides the sign automatically.
• View All categories now shows the full parent-and-child hierarchy — selecting a parent includes its children in both the list and the totals.

Fixed:

• Import preview marks rows whose dates could not be read, and the format-analysis dialog no longer offers to save a profile that just failed its own date test.
• Show Archived stays available even when a filter returns no results, and your page-size choice now carries across navigation links.
• Dashboard yearly budget progress now matches the Budgets page. If you use a yearly budget, its dashboard figure may increase after upgrading — it now counts the full calendar year.
• Month-end transactions are counted again — a transaction dated the last day of a month was left out of that month and out of the year total. Monthly and yearly figures may rise slightly. Monthly Summary also stops counting transactions you have archived, which moves those figures the other way.
• The Income Statement now leaves out archived transactions, with a Show Archived toggle to bring them back in one click.

v2.6.2 — August 2026

New:

• Pick up an interrupted PDF import — if the app closes, the tab goes away, or you simply come back the next day after running AI analysis on a statement, the Import page notices it waiting and offers to resume it. No second AI analysis is spent on a file already read, and you can discard it instead.

Fixed:

• PDF imports stop losing your work — after AI analysis reads your PDF, clicking "Upload and Process" no longer sends the whole file a second time. Large statements finish sooner, and the Safari crash that second read could cause is gone with it.
• Empty column mappings no longer blank your fields — a PDF import used to save a blank column mapping under your account name, which emptied your Date, Description and Amount fields the next time you typed that name. PDF imports no longer save one, and any blank mapping already saved is now ignored.
• Mac licenses survive a rename — Macs identified themselves by computer name, so renaming the Mac or upgrading macOS could look like a different machine and stop the license verifying. Macs now use a hardware ID that does not change, and existing Mac licenses move themselves across on first launch with nothing to re-enter.
• Clearer wording about reserves — a reserve counts against its own period when you mark it Done; the period you pick is a planning label, not a transfer. The Genie, the reserve editor and the period page all suggested the money moved. Only the wording changed.

v2.6.1 — July 2026

New:

• Genie reach for new accounts — a brand-new account gets Genie's full 180-day memory window right away, before you have tagged anything, so it has more to work with from day one. Once you start tagging, tagging is what extends the reach.

Fixed:

• No more firewall prompt on first launch — SenticMoney now stays on your own computer by default, so Windows no longer asks whether to allow it through the firewall. To open SenticMoney from your phone or tablet on the same WiFi, turn on Home network access in your Profile and restart the app. Capturing receipts from your phone with the Mobile Capture QR code works either way.
• Smoother PDF imports — fixed a Safari crash on "Upload and Process" caused by Safari's AutoFill, and cleaned up bank-preset handling so AI-extracted PDF imports go through reliably.
• Password recovery is honest — Forgot Password now gives the ordinary "email address not found" response for addresses that cannot be logged into, instead of reporting that a reset was sent.
• Upgrading installs no longer report a false activation in the anonymous usage count.

Known issue:

• Known issue on Mac, versions before 2.6.2: choosing a statement file with the file picker can reload the import page on some setups. This is a separate issue from the AutoFill crash fixed above. In 2.6.2 the import reads the file only once, which removes the cause. On earlier versions, dragging the file onto the upload area works reliably.

v2.5.9 — May 2026

Fixed:

• License status now syncs automatically. Renewals, reactivations, or revocations on the activation server are reflected in the app within 24 hours, no reinstall needed. Stays active during network outages — you're never locked out by a brief connectivity issue.

v2.5.8 — May 2026

Changed:

• Fresh installs now start from a clean slate with no preconfigured demo accounts; creating an account on first launch is the entry path.
• Eye-icon password visibility toggles added to both password fields on the registration form, matching the login form.

Fixed:

• Password reset emails now actually send, routed through the SenticMoney secure relay.
• Receipt images from mobile capture survive app updates and display correctly on both Mac and Windows.
• AI Insights Spending Analysis shows clickable links to dashboard, Money Flow, and other pages instead of raw markdown text.
• About page footer now displays the version number correctly.
• Brand string corrected from "E-CommSolutions, LLC" to "E-Comm Solutions LLC" in the footer.

Changed:

• Mobile receipt capture now works from anywhere — cellular, unfamiliar WiFi, any connection. Captures queue on the secure relay and sync to your inbox next time you open SenticMoney.
• New "Sync Mobile" button on the Receipts & Bills page pulls any pending captures on demand.
• Receipts awaiting your review now show with a yellow highlight in the inbox.
• Dashboard transaction list shows a "Split" badge for transactions divided across multiple categories.
